Community Connections

Quick Answer

Community Connections let you identify the communities you authentically connect with or serve—such as Iranian, Black, Latino, Muslim, Women, or Veterans. These selections are a primary factor in determining which community publications your listing appears on across the Heritage Web network.

Overview

Heritage Web operates 300+ community-focused directories like IranianLawyers.com, BlackDoctors.com, and WomenAttorneys.com. The Community Connections section tells us which communities you belong to or actively serve, so we can place your listing on the right directories. Selections should represent genuine connections—our team verifies authenticity during the approval process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Access Community Connections

  1. Log into your Heritage Web dashboard

  2. Click My Profile in the left navigation

  3. Scroll to the Community Connections section

  4. Click to expand it

Step 2: Add a Community

  1. Click Add Audience +

  2. A dropdown field appears

  3. Click the dropdown to see available communities

  4. Select a community you identify with or actively serve

  5. The community is added to your list

Step 3: Add Additional Communities

  1. Click Add Audience + again for each community

  2. There is no maximum limit

  3. Select all communities you authentically connect with

Available community types include:

  • Heritage/ethnicity (Iranian, Black, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.)

  • Religious (Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Christian, etc.)

  • Gender (Women)

  • LGBTQ+

  • Service-based (Veterans)

Step 4: Save Your Changes

  1. Review your selections

  2. Click Publish Draft at the top of the page

  3. After approval, your listing may be assigned to relevant community publications

Important Notes

  • Community Connections is a primary factor in publication assignment

  • Selections must represent authentic connections—gaming the system may result in rejection

  • You can hide Community Connections from your public listing using the visibility toggle, but this doesn't affect your publication assignments

  • Conflicting religious communities (e.g., selecting both Muslim and Jewish) may raise review questions

FAQs

How do Community Connections affect my listing? They determine which community directories your listing appears on. Selecting "Iranian" may place you on IranianLawyers.com, IranianDoctors.com, etc., depending on your profession.

Can I select communities I serve but don't personally belong to? Yes, if you genuinely serve that community. For example, a non-Iranian attorney who specializes in serving the Iranian community could select "Iranian." Be prepared to demonstrate authentic connection.

What if my community isn't listed? Heritage Web supports specific communities based on our directory network. Contact support to suggest additions.

Can I hide my Community Connections from visitors? Yes. Use the visibility toggle to hide this section from your public listing. However, your publication assignments remain unchanged—you'll still appear on those community directories.
