Quick Answer
Events are assigned to publications based on three primary factors: Community Connections, Languages, and Event Categories. Heritage Web staff review these selections during approval and assign your event to relevant publications across our network of 300+ community directories.
Overview
Heritage Web operates a network of community-focused publications. When you create an event, our staff determines which publications should feature it based on your listing's content and selections.
Unlike Profile and Organization listings, events don't receive referral leads—publication placement is purely about visibility and discovery.
The Three Factors That Determine Placement
1. Community Connections (Primary)
Your Community Connections selections are the strongest signal for publication placement.
Community Selected | Potential Publications |
Iranian | Iranian community event listings |
Black | Black community event listings |
Women | Women's community event listings |
Veteran | Veteran community event listings |
2. Languages
Languages reinforce community placement and enable language-specific content.
Language | Placement Impact |
Farsi | Strengthens placement on Iranian publications |
Spanish | Enables Latino publication placement |
Korean | Enables Korean publication placement |
3. Event Categories
Categories determine topic-based placement.
Category | Placement Impact |
Legal Industry Events | Legal event listings |
Charity & NGO Events | Nonprofit/charity event listings |
Technology & IT Events | Tech event listings |

Why isn't my event on a publication I expected? Publication assignment considers multiple factors. Your event may not have the right combination of Community, Language, and Category for certain publications. Contact support for clarification.
Can I remove my event from a publication? Yes. In the Publications tab, toggle "Publish" off for any publication you don't want to appear on.
