Quick Answer

Add a video preview by pasting a YouTube or Vimeo link in the "Video Introduction" section of your event listing. The video embeds directly on your public listing, letting visitors watch without leaving the page.

Overview

A video preview generates excitement and helps potential attendees understand what your event offers. Show highlights from past events, introduce speakers, preview the venue, or share testimonials from previous attendees.

The video embeds directly on your event listing with full playback controls.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Upload Your Video to YouTube or Vimeo

Create and upload your video to either platform. Set privacy to "Public" or "Unlisted" (not Private).

Step 2: Copy the Video URL

Get the share link from your video:

  • YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID or https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID

  • Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/VIDEO_ID

Step 3: Open the Video Introduction Section

Navigate to your Edit Event page and expand "Video Introduction."

Step 4: Paste Your Video URL

Enter the URL in the "Link to your introduction video" field.

Step 5: Submit Your Changes

Click "Publish Draft" to save and submit for review.

Important Notes

  • YouTube and Vimeo only: Other platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) are not supported

  • Video must be accessible: Set privacy to Public or Unlisted—Private videos won't embed

  • Visibility toggleable: You can hide the video without deleting the URL

  • Update for recurring events: Create fresh videos for each year/edition

FAQs

What if this is a new event with no past footage? Create a promotional video introducing the event, showcasing the venue, or featuring speaker/performer previews. A teaser video works well for new events.

Can I change the video as the event approaches? Yes! You might start with a save-the-date teaser, then update to a full promotional video closer to the event date.

What if my video doesn't appear after I save? Check that your video is set to Public or Unlisted on YouTube/Vimeo. Private videos cannot be embedded.

Should I update the video after the event? For recurring events, you can update the video with highlights to promote the next edition. For one-time events, you may want to remove or hide the video after the event concludes.
