Quick Answer

Your Event cover image is an optional banner that appears at the top of your event listing page. Upload an image at 1200×300 pixels for best results, with a maximum file size of 5MB. Use it to showcase your venue, previous event photos, promotional banners, or speaker lineup.

Overview

The cover image adds visual impact to your Event listing and helps attract potential attendees. While your Event Logo identifies your event at a glance, the cover image sets the atmosphere and gives visitors a preview of what to expect. It's completely optional, but a compelling cover image can significantly increase event registrations and interest.

Design Considerations

Keep Important Elements Centered

Cover images may crop differently on desktop versus mobile devices. Keep important visual elements—like event names or key imagery—in the center to ensure visibility on all screen sizes.

Account for Event Logo Overlap

Your Event Logo (circular) overlaps the bottom-left corner of the cover image. Avoid placing important content—like text, speakers' faces, or key visuals—in that zone.

Best Practices

Do:

  • Use high-resolution images (at least 1200×300 pixels)

  • Show your actual venue or previous event photos when possible

  • Keep important elements centered

  • Create excitement about your event

  • Match the tone and style of your event

Don't:

  • Place text or key visuals in the bottom-left corner (logo overlap)

  • Use low-resolution or pixelated images

  • Upload images with watermarks

  • Use generic stock photos if real event photos are available

  • Include dates/times in the image (use the event details for that)

Using Photos from Previous Events

If this is a recurring event, photos from previous years can be very effective:

  • Show attendees engaged and enjoying the event

  • Highlight venue atmosphere

  • Feature keynote speakers or performances

  • Demonstrate event scale and turnout

Tip: Avoid using outdated branding or dates in images from previous events.

Important Notes

  • Cover images are optional—your listing works fine without one

  • Cover images are visible to all visitors (not behind login wall)

  • Changing your cover image triggers a review, but your current image stays live

  • The same cover image appears across all publications where your event is listed

  • After your event expires, the cover image remains until the listing is deleted

FAQs

Is a cover image required? No. It's completely optional. Your event listing displays normally with a solid color background if you don't upload one.

What happens if my image is the wrong size? The system will crop to fit the 4:1 aspect ratio. For best results, size your image to 1200×300 pixels before uploading.

Can I use the same cover image as my Organization listing? Yes, if it's appropriate for both. Many organizers use consistent branding across their event and organization listings.

Should I update the cover image for each occurrence of a recurring event? It's not required, but updating with fresh photos from recent events keeps your listing engaging and current.

My cover image looks different on mobile. Why? Cover images may crop differently on smaller screens. Keep important elements centered to ensure they're visible on all devices.

What happens to my cover image after the event ends? Your event listing (including images) remains accessible until you delete it or it's automatically archived. The cover image is preserved for reference.
