Quick Answer

Customize your Organization Name, Tagline, and Overview for each publication and language combination. This lets you tailor your messaging—emphasizing community connections on IranianBusinesses.com while keeping a general business tone on HeritageWeb.com.

Overview

Heritage Web's multi-language content system lets you create entirely different versions of your organization content for different publications, even in the same language. This allows you to speak directly to each community's needs.

Shiraz Kitchen

IranianBusinesses.com

Each version can have a completely different Tagline and Overview while your core business identity remains consistent.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Review Your Publication Assignments

  1. Go to My Organizations and select your organization.

  2. Click the Publications tab.

  3. Review the Publication Table to see which publications your listing appears on.

  4. Note which languages each publication supports.

Step 2: Create Publication-Specific Content

  1. Click the Name & Overview tab.

  2. Scroll down and click Add +.

  3. Select the Publication (e.g., IranianBusinesses.com).

  4. Select the Language (e.g., English or Farsi).

  5. A new overview block is created for that combination.

Step 3: Customize Your Content

For each publication/language combination, consider how to customize:

Organization Name:

  • Use the same name across versions for brand consistency, OR

  • Write your name in native script for non-English versions

  • Consider how your brand translates culturally

Tagline:

  • Tailor to the specific audience

  • Emphasize what matters most to that community

  • Use culturally appropriate phrasing and references

Overview:

  • Highlight services most relevant to that community

  • Include community-specific experience or involvement

  • Adjust tone and cultural references appropriately

Step 4: Save and Submit

  1. Review each version for accuracy and brand consistency.

  2. Click Publish Draft.

  3. After approval, each publication displays its customized version.

Important Notes

  • Your HeritageWeb.com / English overview is always required—other versions are optional.

  • Core business facts should remain consistent across versions. What changes is the emphasis and framing.

  • The Preview button only shows HeritageWeb.com / English. Visit actual publications to see other versions after approval.

  • Changes to any version trigger a re-review of your listing.

  • If you don't create a custom version for a publication, it displays your default HeritageWeb.com content.

FAQs

Do I need different content for every publication?

No. If you don't create a specific version, publications use your default HeritageWeb.com content. Create custom versions where tailored messaging adds value—typically for community publications where you want to emphasize your connection to that community.

Can our organization name be different on different publications?

Yes, with care. You might use "Shiraz Kitchen" in English and "آشپزخانه شیراز" in Farsi. Some businesses also use different brand names or translations. The name should still accurately represent your business.

What's the difference between publication customization and translation?

They work together. You might have three overview versions: HeritageWeb.com / English (general overview), IranianBusinesses.com / English (community-focused in English), and IranianBusinesses.com / Farsi (community-focused in Farsi). All three are distinct content versions.

Should our business services be the same across all versions?

Your actual services should be consistent—don't claim capabilities you don't have. However, you can emphasize different services for different audiences. A restaurant might emphasize catering for the business community and family dining for the Iranian community.

How do I preview my community publication content?

The built-in Preview only shows HeritageWeb.com. To see other versions after approval, visit the actual publication (e.g., IranianBusinesses.com) and find your listing.

Can I delete an overview version I no longer want?

Yes. Click the trash icon (🗑) on the overview block you want to remove, then click Publish Draft. You cannot delete your primary HeritageWeb.com / English overview.
