Quick Answer
Create additional description versions in different languages to reach candidates who prefer reading in their native language. Each language version can have its own Job Title, Tagline, and Description—helping you attract bilingual candidates from specific communities.
Overview
Heritage Web supports job content in 50+ languages. When you create a description in another language, candidates browsing that language version of a publication see your job posting in their preferred language.
This is especially valuable when you're hiring for roles that require specific language skills. A Farsi job description on IranianLawyers.com helps you reach Farsi-speaking legal professionals directly—exactly the candidates you need for a bilingual position.
Important: Job listings are placed on community publications based on language requirements, not community connections. If your role requires Farsi speakers, it can appear on Iranian community publications. This ensures fair employment compliance while still helping you reach qualified candidates.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Confirm Your Listing Is Approved
Before you can create additional description versions:
Your listing must be approved (not Pending).
Publications must be assigned to your listing.
Check your Publications tab to see which publications you have.
If your listing is still pending approval, wait until it's approved before adding multi-language content.
Step 2: Add the Language to Your Job Listing
Go to My Jobs and select your job.
Click the Job Details tab.
Scroll to the Languages section.
Click Add + to add a new language.
Select the language and fluency level required for the role.
Click Publish Draft to save.
Step 3: Create a New Description Version
Click the Title & Overview tab.
You'll see your primary block: Description (1) - HeritageWeb.com / English.
Scroll down and click Add +.
Select the Publication from the dropdown (e.g., IranianLawyers.com).
Select the Language (e.g., Farsi).
A new block appears (e.g., "Description (2) - IranianLawyers.com / Farsi").
Step 4: Write Your Content
Expand the new description block.
Enter your Job Title—you can use native script (e.g., دستیار حقوقی دوزبانه for "Bilingual Legal Assistant").
Add a Tagline in that language.
Write your Description in that language.
Step 5: Save and Submit
Review your content for accuracy.
Click Publish Draft.
After approval, your multi-language content goes live.
Important Notes
Your primary description (HeritageWeb.com / English) is always required—additional languages are optional.
You must add a language in the Languages section (Job Details tab) before you can create description content in that language.
Do not use machine translation—have a native speaker write or review the content. Candidates notice poor translations.
Job placement on community publications is based on language requirements, ensuring fair employment compliance.
Position details (job type, workplace, compensation) remain the same across all language versions.
Job listings do not have Community Connections—this is intentional for fair employment compliance.
FAQs
Why can't I select certain community publications for my job?
Job listings appear on community publications based on language requirements, not community targeting. If your job requires Farsi, it can appear on IranianLawyers.com because language is a legitimate job qualification. You cannot target ethnic communities without a language-based reason.
Which languages are available?
HeritageWeb.com supports 50+ languages. Community publications typically support English plus their community's primary language. The language dropdown shows only languages available for your selected publication.
Can I write my job title in a non-Latin script?
Yes. You can write your job title in Farsi (دستیار حقوقی دوزبانه), Arabic, Chinese, or any supported script. This title appears on publications where that language version is active.
Do the job requirements change with different languages?
No. Position details (job type, workplace type, compensation, etc.) are set once in Job Details and remain consistent across all language versions. Only the descriptive content can be translated.
How do I reach bilingual candidates?
Create a job listing that requires the target language (e.g., Farsi), then create both English and Farsi description versions. This ensures your job appears on relevant community publications and candidates can read it in their preferred language.
Is it discriminatory to post jobs on community publications?
No, when done correctly. Posting on community publications because you have a legitimate language requirement is legal and appropriate. You cannot, however, target ethnic communities without a job-related language need.
Why can't I add a new description version?
Check that your listing is approved (not Pending) and that you have publications assigned beyond HeritageWeb.com. You also need to add the language in your Languages section first.
