Linking Your Social Media Profiles

Quick Answer

Add links to your business social media profiles in the Social Media section of your Organization listing. Heritage Web supports six platforms: LinkedIn (Company), Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, and Yelp. Social links display as icons on your listing.

Overview

Social media links let visitors explore your business beyond your Heritage Web listing. They can see your latest updates, read reviews, watch videos, and get a fuller picture of your organization. Adding social profiles builds credibility and gives potential clients multiple ways to connect with you.

Which Platforms to Include

Prioritize platforms where you:

  • Actively post content

  • Have positive reviews

  • Engage with your audience

  • Maintain current information

Skip platforms that:

  • You haven't updated in months

  • Have negative or few reviews

  • Show personal (not business) content

  • Are incomplete or abandoned

Social Media Best Practices

Do:

  • Link only to active, maintained profiles

  • Use business pages, not personal accounts

  • Verify all links work correctly

  • Keep linked profiles professional

  • Update if your URLs change

Don't:

  • Link to abandoned profiles

  • Mix personal and business pages

  • Include platforms with negative reviews (unless you're addressing them)

  • Add every platform just to fill fields

  • Forget to update when handles change

Visibility Control

The Social Media section has a visibility toggle:

  • Clickable icons for each platform

  • Icons link to your profiles in a new tab

  • Clean, recognizable platform logos

Important Notes

  • Only add platforms you actively maintain

  • All six fields are optional—add only what's relevant

  • LinkedIn Company is different from LinkedIn Profile

  • Links should go to business pages, not personal profiles

  • Social links don't affect lead matching

FAQs

Do I need to fill in all six platforms? No. Only add platforms where you have active business profiles. Quality over quantity.

What's the difference between LinkedIn Company and LinkedIn Profile? LinkedIn Company is your business page (linkedin.com/company/...). LinkedIn Profile is your personal page (linkedin.com/in/...). Use Company for Organizations, Profile for your personal Profile listing.

Can I add other social platforms not listed? Currently, only the six listed platforms are supported. Use your Website field for other online presences.

Will my social media posts appear on my listing? No. Heritage Web links to your profiles but doesn't display your social content. Visitors click through to see your posts.

Should I include Yelp if I have bad reviews? Consider whether the benefits outweigh the risks. Some businesses address negative reviews proactively; others prefer not to highlight Yelp.

What if my business doesn't use social media? That's fine. Leave the fields empty. Social links are optional enhancements, not requirements.
