Quick Answer

Use your Profile listing to showcase yourself as an individual professional. Create an Organization listing to represent your business, company, or nonprofit. Many users maintain both for maximum visibility.

Overview

Heritage Web offers two listing types for professionals and businesses: Profiles and Organizations. Understanding when to use each helps you reach the right clients effectively.

When to Use a Profile Listing

Your Profile listing is created automatically when you sign up. Use it when:

  • You want to showcase your personal credentials and experience

  • Clients hire you specifically (not just your firm)

  • You're a solo practitioner operating under your own name

  • Your individual reputation drives your business

Best for: Attorneys, doctors, real estate agents, consultants, accountants, and other professionals where personal credentials matter.

When to Create an Organization Listing

Create an Organization listing when:

  • You operate under a business name (LLC, Inc., DBA)

  • You have a team of employees or partners

  • Your business brand is separate from your personal identity

  • You want to showcase your physical location with photos

  • You're a franchise location or part of a larger network

Best for: Law firms, medical practices, restaurants, retail stores, agencies, nonprofits, and any business with its own brand identity.

Using Both Together

Many successful Heritage Web users maintain both listing types:

Listing

Purpose

Your Profile

Showcases your personal credentials, education, licenses, and individual expertise

Your Organization

Represents your business with logo, locations, team languages, and hours of operation

Example: An immigration attorney might have:

  • A Profile listing showing her law degree, bar admission, languages she speaks, and professional photo

  • An Organization listing for her law firm with the firm logo, office locations, all staff languages, and hours of operation

FAQs

I'm a solo attorney. Do I need an Organization listing? Not required, but consider one if you practice under a firm name (like "Smith Law Office") rather than just your personal name. Having both gives you more visibility.

Can my Organization listing link to my Profile? Not directly within the platform, but clients can find both through search. Many users mention their credentials in their Organization overview.

Which listing type gets more leads? Both participate equally in lead matching. Profile listings have slightly higher conversion rates, but having both maximizes your visibility and lead opportunities.

I have multiple businesses. What should I do? Create one Organization listing for each business. They'll all be managed from your single Heritage Web account with your one Profile.

Can the same person appear on both a Profile and Organization listing? Yes. Your Profile represents you individually, while the Organization represents the business. Clients may find either depending on their search.
