Quick Answer
Your Profile listing requires two fields before it can be submitted for review: Name and Bio. Both are located in the Name & Bio tab. Without completing these fields, clicking "Publish Draft" won't submit your listing.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Access the Name & Bio Tab
Log into your Heritage Web dashboard
Click My Profile in the left navigation
Select the Name & Bio tab
Step 2: Enter Your Name
Find the Name field at the top of the content block
Enter your professional display name (personal name, not business name)
This is how your name appears on your public listing
Examples:
Sarah Johnson
Dr. David Kim
María García, Esq.
محمد رضایی (names can be written in native script)
What to avoid:
Business names (use Organization listings for those)
Marketing phrases like "Sarah Johnson - Top Rated Attorney"
ALL CAPS formatting
Step 3: Add a Headline (Optional but Recommended)
Find the Headline field below Name
Enter a short tagline describing what you do
Keep it brief—one line that captures your specialty
Examples:
Immigration Attorney Serving the Iranian Community
Bilingual Family Medicine Physician
Commercial Real Estate Specialist
Step 4: Write Your Bio
Find the Bio text area below Headline
Write your professional biography (150-300 words recommended)
Include your background, expertise, and the clients you serve
Strong bios typically include:
Your professional background and experience
Services or specialties you offer
Languages you speak
Communities you serve
What makes your approach unique
Step 5: Submit Your Profile
Click Publish Draft in the header area at the top of the page
Your listing status changes to Pending Review
Approval typically takes 1 business day (Sponsor) or 2-3 business days (Free)
Important Notes
Only Name and Bio are required—Headline is optional but recommended for visibility
Your primary content is for HeritageWeb.com in English—this is the default content set
Names can be in native script—Farsi, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, and other scripts are supported
Adding other languages requires a prerequisite—first add the language in your Languages section (Profile Details tab), then you can create a bio version in that language
Both fields are reviewed for professionalism and accuracy during approval
Business names in the Name field cause rejection—Profile listings represent individuals, not businesses
FAQs
What if I only complete my Name but not my Bio? Your listing cannot be submitted. Both Name and Bio are required before the Publish Draft button will work.
Can I use a business name instead of my personal name? No. Profile listings represent you as an individual professional. Use your personal name here and create an Organization listing for your business.
How long should my Bio be? Aim for 150-300 words. Long enough to share your story and expertise, short enough to keep readers engaged.
Can I write my name and bio in my native language? Yes. You can write your Name in native script (e.g., Arabic, Farsi, Chinese). For bio content in other languages, first add that language in the Languages section (Profile Details tab), then create an additional content set in the Name & Bio tab.
What's the difference between Headline and Bio? Headline is a short tagline (one line) that appears prominently on your listing. Bio is your full professional description. Only Bio is required, but Headline helps visitors quickly understand what you do.
