Quick Answer

The default 75-mile matching radius works for most professionals, but you can request a custom service area by contacting Heritage Web support. Options include smaller radii for hyper-local focus, larger radii for regional coverage, or "No Limit" for national services.

Overview

Not every professional fits the 75-mile default. Immigration attorneys often serve clients nationally. Neighborhood-focused businesses may prefer a tighter radius. Heritage Web can customize your service area to match how you actually serve clients.

Custom radii can be set per specialty if you offer different services with different geographic scopes. For example, you might serve local clients for routine matters but accept national clients for specialized work.

When to Request Changes

Expand Your Radius

Consider requesting a larger radius or "No Limit" if you:

  • Practice in areas with national scope (immigration, bankruptcy, patents)

  • Offer telehealth or virtual consultations

  • Provide remote services

  • Serve clients who travel to you

  • Have specialized expertise that attracts distant clients

Reduce Your Radius

Consider a smaller radius if you:

  • Focus on a specific neighborhood or community

  • Have limited capacity and want only nearby clients

  • Offer services requiring frequent in-person visits

  • Prefer a smaller, more local client base

How to Request a Change

Step 1: Determine Your Needs

Decide what radius makes sense for your practice. Consider:

  • How far do your current clients come from?

  • Do you offer virtual services?

  • Are you willing to travel or have clients travel?

Step 2: Contact Support

Send an email to [email protected] with:

  • Your name and email associated with your account

  • Your current listing URL (if available)

  • The radius you're requesting

  • Brief explanation of why (helps us process faster)

Step 3: Confirmation

Support will confirm your change, usually within 1-2 business days. Your new radius takes effect immediately after processing.

Important Notes

  • Custom radii are free—there's no charge for radius adjustments.

  • You can have different radii for different specialties—just specify in your request.

  • "No Limit" removes all geographic filtering—you'll receive leads from anywhere.

  • You can change again later—radius adjustments aren't permanent.

  • Changes apply to new leads only—doesn't affect previously received leads.

FAQs

Is there a fee for changing my radius?

No. Radius adjustments are free. Just contact support with your request.

Can I have different radii for different practice areas?

Yes. If you offer immigration law nationally but family law locally, support can configure different radii per specialty.

How long does the change take?

Usually 1-2 business days. Your new radius applies immediately once processed.

What if I change my mind?

Contact support again. You can adjust your radius as often as needed to match your evolving practice.

Will I get too many leads with "No Limit"?

Possibly, depending on your specialty. Geographic filtering is just one of several matching factors. If you're overwhelmed, you can request a smaller radius or adjust your Referrals toggle settings in the Publications tab.

Does changing my radius affect my location visibility?

No. Radius controls matching scope. Location visibility controls what the public sees. They're independent settings.
