If you need to pause or stop accepting donations, it's important to choose the right option. Hiding keeps your setup intact so you can resume instantly. Disconnecting severs the Stripe link entirely and resets your approval status.

How to Hide Donations
Step 1: Go to the Donations Tab
Navigate to Dashboard → Edit Organization → Donations tab.
Step 2: Use the Hide Donations Toggle
Toggle the Hide Donations control to hide the Donate button from all publications. Your Stripe account remains connected and your approval status is unchanged.
Step 3: Re-enable When Ready
Return to the Donations tab and toggle visibility back on. The Donate button reappears immediately — no re-approval needed.
How to Disconnect Stripe
Step 1: Go to the Donations Tab
Navigate to Dashboard → Edit Organization → Donations tab.
Step 2: Click "Disconnect Stripe"
Click the Disconnect Stripe button. A confirmation dialog will appear to make sure you want to proceed.
Step 3: Confirm Disconnection
Confirm the action. Your Stripe account will be disconnected and your donation feature status will reset to Not Requested. To accept donations again, you'll need to reconnect Stripe and go through the admin approval process.
Important Notes
Existing recurring donors are not affected by hiding. If you hide donations, active recurring subscriptions continue processing through Stripe. Hiding only removes the Donate button from your listing.
Disconnecting does not cancel active subscriptions. Recurring donations set up before disconnecting continue through Stripe until the donor cancels. Manage active subscriptions directly in your Stripe dashboard.
When in doubt, hide instead of disconnect. Hiding is reversible and instant. Disconnecting requires starting the setup and approval process over.
