Quick Answer
For free events, either add a ticket tier with a price of $0.00 (e.g., "Free Admission" at 0.00), or leave the Events Tickets section empty. When empty, no pricing information displays on your listing.
Overview
Free events can be handled two ways in Heritage Web: explicitly show "Free Admission" with a $0 price, or simply skip the ticket section entirely. Choose based on whether you want visitors to clearly see "free" messaging or prefer a cleaner listing without pricing details.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Option 1: Show Free Admission Explicitly
Open the Events Tickets section
Click + Add Event Ticket
Enter a name like "Free Admission" or "No Cost Entry"
Set the price to 0.00
Submit your changes
This displays "Free Admission - $0.00" on your public listing, clearly communicating no cost.
Option 2: Leave Tickets Section Empty
Don't add any ticket tiers
Leave the Events Tickets section blank
The section won't display on your public listing
This keeps your listing clean without any pricing information shown.
Combining Free and Paid Options
You can mix free and paid tiers:
Free Admission: $0.00
VIP (includes parking): $25.00
Donation Suggested: $0.00
Important Notes
$0.00 is a valid price—enter zero, not blank
Empty ticket sections simply don't display publicly
Use your event description to mention if RSVP is required even for free events
Link to your registration page in the Event Website field if attendees need to sign up
FAQs
Should I use $0 or leave it empty? Use $0 when you want visitors to immediately see the event is free. Leave empty for informal gatherings where pricing isn't relevant.
What about "donation suggested" events? Add a tier named "Donation Suggested" or "Pay What You Can" at $0.00. Explain the donation option in your event description.
Can I require RSVP for a free event? Yes. Set up free tickets, note "RSVP Required" in the ticket name or description, and link to your registration form in Event Website.
