Quick Answer

Enter your company's official website URL in the Hiring Organization section. The URL must start with https:// and should link to your main company website. This is required for all job listings and gives candidates a way to research your organization.

Overview

The Hiring Organization Website field creates a clickable link on your job listing, directing candidates to learn more about your company. This is separate from the Job Website field (in Locations), which links to your application page. The Hiring Organization Website is about who you are; the Job Website is about how to apply.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Access the Hiring Organization Section

  1. Log into your Heritage Web dashboard.

  2. Click My Jobs in the left navigation.

  3. Select your job listing.

  4. Click the Job Details tab.

  5. Find the Hiring Organization section.

Step 2: Enter Your Website URL

  1. Find the Parent Organization Website field.

  2. Enter your complete website URL.

  3. Make sure it starts with https://

Examples of valid URLs:

Examples of invalid URLs:

  • heritageweb.com (missing https://)

  • www.acme-corp.com (missing https://)

  • http://oldsite.com (should be https for security)

Step 3: Test Your Link

  1. Copy the URL you entered.

  2. Paste it in a new browser tab.

  3. Verify it loads your company website correctly.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

  1. Click Publish Draft to submit.

What to Link To

Recommended

Not Recommended

Main company homepage

Specific product page

Company "About Us" page

Job application page (use Job Website instead)

Corporate website

Personal LinkedIn profile

Careers landing page

Social media page

The goal is to help candidates learn about your company as an employer, not to start the application process (that's what the Job Website field in Locations is for).

Important Notes

  • Website is required—you can't submit without a valid URL.

  • Must include https://—URLs without the protocol prefix won't work.

  • Link is clickable—candidates can click directly to your site.

  • Verified during review—staff check that the site loads and matches your company.

  • Keep it updated—if your website changes, update the listing.

FAQs

Why is https:// required?

HTTPS indicates a secure website. Modern browsers flag non-HTTPS sites as insecure, which could reflect poorly on your company. Most websites support HTTPS today.

What if my website is http:// only?

Try entering it with https:// anyway—many sites redirect automatically. If it truly doesn't support HTTPS, consider updating your website security, or contact support for guidance.

Can I link to our LinkedIn company page instead?

While technically possible, a company website is preferred. LinkedIn pages are limited in what they can show. If you don't have a website, a well-maintained LinkedIn company page may work, but expect it to be reviewed carefully.

What's the difference between this and the Job Website?

Hiring Organization Website (this field): Links to your company's main website for candidates to research you.

Job Website (in Locations tab): Links to the specific application page or careers portal for this job.

Can I link to a careers page?

Yes, a careers landing page works well since candidates are interested in employment. Just ensure it represents your company well, not just a list of open positions.

What if we don't have a company website?

All established businesses should have some web presence. If you're a new startup, consider at minimum a simple landing page. A LinkedIn company page might work temporarily, but having a proper website improves credibility.

Why was my website rejected?

Possible reasons include: the URL doesn't load, the site appears unrelated to your company name, the site contains inappropriate content, or the domain seems suspicious. Check the rejection email for specifics.
