Quick Answer

Profile listings cannot be deleted—this is an intentional system design. Your Profile is permanently tied to your Heritage Web account. However, you can pause your Profile to hide it from all public view while keeping your account active. If you need to leave Heritage Web entirely, you can request full account deletion through support.

Overview

Unlike Organization, Event, and Job listings (which can be deleted), your Profile listing is a permanent part of your account. This design maintains data integrity, prevents system abuse, and preserves your professional history. The good news: you have full control over your Profile's visibility without needing to delete it.

Your Options

Option 1: Pause Your Profile (Recommended)

Pausing hides your Profile from all publications while preserving your data:

Step 1: Go to Your Publications Tab

Log into your dashboard and navigate to My ProfilePublications tab.

Step 2: Use Publishing Status Control

At the top of the Publications tab, find the Publishing Status control. Click "Pause Listing" to change your status from Active to Paused.

Step 3: Confirm the Change

Your Profile is now hidden from all publications. The status badge will show "● Paused" in coral/salmon color.

What happens when paused:

  • Profile is invisible on all publications

  • No new leads are matched to you

  • Your dashboard, lead history, and settings remain accessible

  • You can unpause anytime to restore visibility

Option 2: Hide from Specific Publications

If you want to remain visible on some publications but not others:

  1. Go to My ProfilePublications tab

  2. Find the publication in the table

  3. Toggle Publish off for that specific site

  4. Your Profile remains active elsewhere

Option 3: Minimize Your Profile

Keep a minimal presence by removing optional content:

  • Remove contact information (phone, address, website)

  • Disable Private Messages in the Messages tab

  • Remove Industries to stop lead matching

  • Keep only the required Name and Bio fields

Option 4: Delete Your Entire Account

As a last resort, you can request full account deletion:

  1. Email [email protected] requesting account deletion

  2. Verify your account ownership

  3. Understand this removes ALL listings (Profile, Organizations, Events, Jobs)

  4. Support processes the permanent deletion

Note: This is irreversible and removes all your data from Heritage Web.

Why This Policy Exists

Heritage Web maintains permanent Profiles for several reasons:

  • Data integrity — Preserves lead history and client interaction records

  • Preventing abuse — Stops repeated creation/deletion cycles to game the system

  • SEO value — Your Profile builds search ranking authority over time

  • Professional continuity — Maintains your established presence and reputation

FAQs

Can Heritage Web make an exception? No. This is a core system design without exception. Individual Profile deletion isn't technically supported.

What if I created a Profile by mistake? Pause it immediately to hide from public view, then create the correct listing type (Organization, Event, or Job) separately.

What if I'm retiring or closing my practice? Pause your Profile to remove it from public view. Your account remains available if you ever return to practice.

Can I transfer my Profile to someone else? No. Profiles are permanently tied to individual identity and cannot be transferred.

I see delete buttons for my other listings—why not Profile? Organization, Event, and Job listings can be deleted because they represent separate entities. Your Profile represents your personal professional identity, which is tied to your account.

Next Steps
