Quick Answer
Add your professional licenses in the Licenses & Certifications tab of your Edit Profile or Edit Organization page. Enter your license name, number, type, country, state (if applicable), and key dates. Verified licenses display a verification badge on your public listing and are used for lead matching.
Overview
Your licenses and certifications are verified against official databases or through document review and directly impact which leads you receive. Only credentials that are both active and verified qualify for lead matching — ensuring you're connected with clients seeking your specific services. You can add up to 10 license entries per listing.
Profile listings: The Licenses & Certifications section is always visible on your public listing and cannot be hidden.
Organization listings: You can toggle visibility off to hide credentials from your public listing. Hidden licenses are still used for lead matching.

Click "Publish Draft" to submit the change

Reordering Licenses
You can control the order your licenses appear on your public listing:
Use the drag handle (⋮⋮) next to each license to drag it into your preferred order
The first license in the list appears most prominently on your public listing
Order is saved automatically — no need to click Save
Tip: Place your most important credential first. For example, an attorney might drag their primary state bar license to the top.
Important Notes
License Name is free text: Type exactly what you want displayed (e.g., "State Bar License" — not just "Bar")
License Type is required: Choose the category that best fits your credential from the dropdown
State field is optional: Leave it unselected for federal licenses (DEA registration, 501(c)(3) status), national certifications, or international credentials
Maximum 10 entries: Prioritize your most important credentials
Licenses always display on Profiles: The Licenses & Certifications section cannot be hidden on Profile listings. Organization listings can toggle visibility off
Both active AND verified required for leads: Only credentials with active status and verified verification status are eligible for lead matching
Expiration reminders: Heritage Web sends email reminders at 60 days, 30 days, and 7 days before your license expires
7-day grace period: After your expiration date passes, you have 7 days to renew before your license is automatically marked as expired
Renewal resets verification: Updating your license number or expiration date triggers re-verification — your badge will reappear after Heritage Web confirms the renewed credential
Proof documents stored securely: Uploaded documents are kept in HIPAA-compliant cloud storage and are only accessible to Heritage Web staff during review
FAQs
What if my license doesn't get a verification badge? Not all credentials can be verified — this is normal. If no public database exists for your credential type, you can upload a proof document (PDF or image, max 10MB) or provide a verification URL to help Heritage Web staff verify it. Unverified credentials still display on your listing, just without the badge.
When should I leave the State field unselected? Leave it unselected for federal credentials (DEA registration, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status), national certifications (ISO, HIPAA compliance), or international credentials.
How do I update a renewed license? Edit the existing entry and update the license number and/or expiration date. This resets your verification status — Heritage Web will re-verify your renewed credential and restore the badge once confirmed.
Do all my licenses need to verify for my listing to be approved? Critical credentials (like your primary bar license or medical license) must verify. Supplementary certifications may be approved without verification — they'll display on your listing without the badge.
What is the verification badge? The verification badge appears next to credentials that Heritage Web has confirmed against official databases or through document review. It signals to potential clients that your credential has been independently verified.
What happens when my license expires? Heritage Web sends email reminders as your expiration date approaches. After expiration, you have a 7-day grace period to renew. If not renewed within that window, your license is automatically marked as expired and removed from lead matching. Update your expiration date to restore active status and trigger re-verification.
What License Type should I choose?
State & Local Government — State or local licenses (bar, medical, real estate, contractor, business license)

Professional Certification — Professional body certifications (CPA, CFP, board certifications)
Industry Accreditation — Standards body accreditations (ISO, Joint Commission, BBB)
Physical Facility Permit — Facility permits (food service, health department, liquor license)
Regulatory Compliance — Compliance certifications (HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2)
