Adding and Managing Licenses

Quick Answer

Add your government-issued professional licenses to your Profile listing to get verified and receive referral leads. Enter your license type, number, state, and acquisition date. Heritage Web verifies all licenses against official state databases during review.

Overview

The Licenses section is where you add credentials like your law license, medical license, real estate license, or CPA certification. Unlike Education and Associations (which are display-only), licenses are verified by our team and directly affect which leads you receive. Only professionals with valid, active licenses receive leads requiring those credentials.

  2. Click My Profile in the left navigation

  3. Scroll to the Licenses section

  • Licenses are verified against official state databases (Bar Associations, Medical Boards, etc.)

  • Invalid or expired licenses are excluded from lead matching

  • Enter your license number exactly as it appears on your official documentation

  • Your name must match exactly with the name on the license

FAQs

What's the difference between a license and a certification? Licenses are government-issued credentials required to practice (law license, medical license). Certifications are voluntary credentials from professional organizations (board certifications, specializations). Only licenses go in this section.

Why was my license rejected? Common reasons: license number doesn't match state records, name mismatch, license is expired, or you entered a certification instead of a license. Double-check your information against your official license documentation.

How long does license verification take? Verification happens during listing review, typically 1-2 business days. If we can't verify a license, we'll contact you for clarification.

What happens if my license expires? Expired licenses are excluded from lead matching. Update your license information when you renew, and resubmit your listing.

Can I add licenses from multiple states? Yes. Add all states where you're licensed. Each valid license expands your lead matching eligibility.
