Understanding Your 3 Monthly Accesses

Quick Answer

Free users with approved listings receive 3 pro bono lead accesses per month. Each time you click "I'll Take It" to view a client's contact information, it uses one access. Your remaining accesses display at the top of the Pro Bono Dashboard, and unused accesses don't roll over to the next month.

Overview

The free tier of Heritage Web's Pro Bono Program uses a "browse freely, pay to connect" model. You can view unlimited pro bono opportunities, but accessing contact information to actually help clients is limited to 3 per month for free users, encouraging strategic case selection while maintaining program sustainability.

Access Counter Display

Your Pro Bono Dashboard header shows:

  • Green (3 or 2 remaining): "2 of 3 accesses remaining this month"

  • Yellow (1 remaining): "⚠️ 1 of 3 accesses remaining"

  • Red (0 remaining): "❌ You've used all free accesses"

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Check Your Current Access Count

Open your Pro Bono Dashboard and look at the header. The access counter appears prominently below the "Make a difference with Pro Bono Work" message.

Step 2: Browse Available Opportunities

Review all opportunities in the "New" tab without using accesses:

  • Read full descriptions

  • Check locations and requirements

  • Assess your ability to help

  • No limit on browsing

Step 3: Strategic Selection

Before clicking "I'll Take It," consider:

  • Your expertise match with the case

  • Geographic feasibility

  • Time commitment required

  • Remaining accesses this month

  • Days left in current month

Step 4: Confirmation Before Using Access

When you click "I'll Take It," a confirmation popup appears:

  • Shows the lead title

  • Confirms you're using 1 of 3 monthly accesses

  • Displays remaining accesses after this one

  • Requires confirmation to proceed

Step 5: After Using an Access

Once confirmed:

  • Full contact information displays immediately

  • Case moves to your "Accepted" tab

  • Access counter decreases by one

  • You can't undo this action

Important Notes

  • No Rollover: Unused accesses expire at month end

  • No Refunds: Used accesses can't be recovered

  • Strategic Use: Plan your 3 accesses carefully

  • Immediate Effect: Access used instantly upon confirmation

  • Account-Wide: Accesses apply to all pro bono opportunities

FAQs

Q: What happens if I accidentally click "I'll Take It"? A: You'll see a confirmation popup before the access is used. If you confirm and use the access accidentally, it cannot be refunded.

Q: Can I buy additional accesses beyond my 3 monthly? A: No, but you can upgrade to sponsor status ($24/month) for unlimited accesses. There's no option to purchase individual additional accesses.

Q: Do my unused accesses accumulate month to month? A: No. All unused accesses expire when the month resets on the 1st. Use them or lose them.

Q: Can I see how many accesses I've used this month? A: Yes, the counter shows both remaining and used accesses (e.g., "1 of 3 accesses remaining" means you've used 2).

Q: If I upgrade to sponsor mid-month, what happens to my used accesses? A: Once you upgrade, you immediately get unlimited access. The 3-access limit no longer applies for the rest of your sponsor period.

Next Steps

  • Review all available opportunities before selecting

  • Prioritize cases matching your expertise
