Understanding Publishing & Change Status

Track where your profile stands—from draft to live

Every profile update in Heritage Web moves through two key statuses: Publishing Status (live visibility) and Change Status (review workflow). Knowing what each means helps you manage your content lifecycle.


1. Publishing Status

Status

Description

Never Published

New profiles until first published.

Active

Live and visible on selected Publications.

Paused

Temporarily hidden; data retained for edits.

Pending Payment

Awaiting payment for sponsor listings.

2. Change Status

Status

Description

Pending Review

Edits submitted and awaiting Heritage Web approval.

Approved

Latest changes live; no pending edits.

Rejected

Edits not approved; see rejection reason and revise draft.

3. Where to View Statuses

  • Top of Edit Profile: Publishing status label with action link (e.g., Pause/Unpause).

  • Under Submit Button: Change status badge showing review state.

4. Next Steps by Status

  • Pending Review: Monitor email or Dashboard notifications for approval.

  • Rejected: Click View Rejection to see feedback, revise draft, and resubmit.

  • Paused: Click Unpause to make your profile live again.
